What Is An APMP?
What's In An APMP?
Objectives Framework
The Alliance Performance Monitoring Plan (APMP)

An APMP is a performance management tool used by an alliance team (partners) to help plan and manage the process of assessing and reporting progress towards achieving the Objectives of the partnership. It is a critical tool for planning, managing, and documenting how performance data is collected and used. An APMP serves to:

  • Define specific performance indicators for each Objective, determine baselines and set targets
  • Plan and manage the data collection process for reporting
  • Estimate costs related to data collection and plan how these will be financed
  •
Communicate expectations to partner institutions responsible for producing measurable performance

An APMP contributes to the effectiveness of the partners performance by assuring that progress data will be collected on a regular and timely basis. Using the APMP to sufficiently document indicator definitions, sources, and methods of data collection increases the likelihood that you will collect comparable data over time - even when key partner personnel change. An APMP also supports reliable data collection by documenting the frequency and schedule of data collection and assigning responsibilities.
